 s know that due to the high volume of rain in the days leading up to Buddy
  Walk\,  they cannot allow use of the Avenel Park field for Saturday. Ther
 efore\, it is with great disappointment that DSNMC has to announce that we
  will not hold the Buddy Walk this Saturday\, October 1.  \n\nWe understan
 d what a disappointment this is for everyone and we are currently working 
 to come up with an alternate event at a later date so we can all join toge
 ther with each other\, our friends\, family and community to celebrate our
  loved ones with Down syndrome and the great effort everyone made to raise
  funds to support DSNMC.  We especially wish to thank our sponsors whose s
 upport is critical to helping DSNMC carry out its mission not just at Budd
 y Walk but throughout the year.  We also thank our Buddy Walk committee (B
 ridget Urgo\, Khadra Ayorinde\, Mary Ann Dawedeit\, Emily Dunigan\, Debbie
  Copeland\, Katherine Lawyer) for all of their hard work.\n\nPlease know t
 hat we explored other options to try to have the event indoors this weeken
 d but did not have enough time to make that happen.  We welcome your sugge
 stions for locations/venues for a future event.  At this time we will stil
 l plan for packet pickup tonight (starting at 4:30) and tomorrow for anyon
 e who wishes to get their shirts and we will announce additional opportuni
 ties so everyone can get their shirts at some point.  We appreciate your u
 nderstanding and we thank everyone for the hard work they have put in so f
 ar to try to make this event happen.  We will all be together in spirit th
