 ummer 2025 College and Career Readiness Series! We are hosting four worksh
 ops throughout Montgomery County for young adults with Down syndrome (ages
  16-25) to learn\, ask questions\, and build skills related to employment 
 and independent living.\n\nYou may sign up for individual workshops ($30/s
 ession) or the entire series: attend 1\, 2\, 3\, or 4 based on your availa
 bility. You do not need to attend all four workshops to participate in thi
 s program.\n\nPre-registration is required so our staff can adequately pre
 pare for the group\; no drop-ins will be accepted. Each workshop is limite
 d to 8 participants.\n\nScholarships are available- please contact program
 s-events@dsnmc.org with a scholarship request.\n\nWorkshop Details\n\nSess
 ion #1: Looking Ahead\nMonday\, July 21st from 2-5pm\nRegional Services Ce
 nter- Upcounty (Germantown\, MD)\n\nParticipants will complete interest in
 ventories to identify potential educational and career paths\, learn strat
 egies to increase motivation and track progress\, and develop short-term a
 nd long-term goals for themselves.\n\nSession #2: Office and Workplace Ski
 lls\nTuesday\, July 22nd from 2-5pm\nWheaton Library (Wheaton\, MD)\n\nPar
 ticipants will practice workplace etiquette and navigating interactions wi
 th coworkers\, develop techniques for effective email communication\, and 
 work collaboratively to complete a project using Google Suite.\n\nSession 
 #3: Preparing for Employment\nTuesday\, July 29th from 2-5pm\nRegional Ser
 vices Center-B-CC (Bethesda\, MD)\n\nCome dressed in your best! Participan
 ts will engage in role playing activities to request accommodations or sup
 port at work and describe personal strengths\, then attend mock interviews
  with community members and co-participants.\n\nSession #4: Navigating the
  Community\nThursday\, July 31st from 2-5pm\nRockville Memorial Library (R
 ockville\, MD)\n\nParticipants will prepare for future community trips by 
 learning about WMATA transportation options. The group will explore the ar
 ea around the library to identify community signs and symbols\, practice p
 edestrian safety\, and take an introductory tour of the Rockville Metro st
