Kick off summer with us at Bohrer Park in Gaithersburg at our annual Summer Picnic!

In partnership with
Open Door Sports
, DSNMC will host a field day for kids ages 5 to 18 prior to the picnic! Participants will rotate through a variety of adaptive sports stations led by trained coaches, with activities thoughtfully designed to meet a wide range of skill levels and support needs.

Saturday, June 13; (Field Day 9:30-11:00, Picnic 11:30-3:00)

Cost:
$12 for ages 13 and up, $7 for ages 5 to 12. Ages 0 to 4 are free.

We are gathering feedback from families to
help shape future youth and parent/ caregiver programming
for families of children with Down syndrome ages 5–13. This brief survey is available in both English and Spanish.

Partners for Justice Conference
on May 20, speaking on
The Threat to Disability Rights in Public Education
. The panel discussed how changes to the United States Department of Education may impact students with disabilities, low-income families, and minority communities, with a focus on funding, advocacy, and legal protections. Panelists emphasized the importance of collaboration among public service organizations, advocacy groups, and school systems to ensure all students’ rights and educational needs continue to be supported.
