PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT:

DSNMC Youth Program

Field Day with Open Door Sports

The DSNMC Youth Program has had an exciting start to 2026! This spring, we launched several new partnerships across Montgomery County to expand opportunities for youth ages 5–13. Families joined us for our first Field Day in partnership with Open Door Sports , where participants enjoyed adaptive sports, teamwork, and fun with friends. We also partnered with VisArts for a Young Artists Studio Spring Series that encouraged creativity, self-expression, and social connection. These programs reinforced what we consistently hear from families: opportunities for friendship, belonging, recreation, and skill-building are essential for our youth and families.

Summer is just getting started! We look forward to Plant. Grow. Play. , our hands-on gardening and outdoor learning program, as well as our family outing to see the Pete the Cat Musical . This fall, we're excited to expand our offerings with adaptive swim lessons through our new SwimLabs partnership and Friday Night Lights for Boys , focused on building friendships, confidence, and community.

As we continue growing our programs, we need your input. If you have a child between the ages of 5–13, please complete our Youth Programming Survey . Your feedback will help shape future opportunities and ensure DSNMC continues providing programs that meet the needs of our families.
