Hi! My name is Franny and I am so excited to be a part of the DSNMC board. I am a Special Education Enthusiast who is looking forward to building connections with people and learning more about how to help the Down syndrome community in Montgomery County. I earned my degree in Early Childhood Education in Ohio and went on to receive my Master’s in Learning Disabilities from American University in Washington, DC, in 2020. I currently work at The Diener School, a local special needs school in downtown Bethesda. Prior to that, I worked at an inclusive preschool in Northwest DC. At Diener, I teach Social Studies to elementary students and lead a small academic group, as well as oversee the Aftercare program.
I am passionate about building strong relationships with students and adults alike, so that everyone feels comfortable, confident, and excited. I love to learn and try new things. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife, dog Gouda and my cat Otis, as well as being outside, and exploring new places. I also have extensive experience teaching swim lessons and helping children feel safe in the water, as well as providing both adaptive and non-adaptive ski instruction to children and adults. I look forward to meeting you.
