Christine Fleming has been an active member of DSNMC since 2008. She holds a firm belief in the importance of continued education and growth — and accessible opportunities for both— throughout the lifespan for all humans.
Christine has a background in writing and editing, and exercise science. In recent years she directed a dance program for young adults with disabilities and taught yoga for SPIRIT Club. She has volunteered or coached for Special Olympics since 1985. Recently, Christine embarked on the role of full-time support person for her daughter (22) with Down syndrome.
Christine lives in Bethesda with her husband, three children: Jack (16), Kit (20) and Gabby (22), and Cassie the dog. She enjoys creative writing, music, movement of all kinds, and being outside. Christine shares that she feels grateful for the connections and shared wealth of experience and knowledge among the members of DSNMC and hopes especially to help enrich the lives of adults with Down syndrome.
