Denise Dombay
Board Member
Denise Dombay became involved with the DSNMC when she opened SwimLabs, her Gaithersburg swim school in 2018. Margo Kim, her Operations Director and mother of Taegon who was born with Down Syndrome, introduced her to this amazing, supportive community. After sponsoring the Step-Up Walk, Denise has been a strong advocate for DSNMC, welcoming many in the community to her swim school.
In addition to overseeing SwimLabs, Denise is Senior Vice President and Chief Audit Executive at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Denise has over 30 years of experience in corporate audit and client service roles. Throughout her career, Denise has been actively engaged in diversity and women’s initiatives in the workplace. Denise earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from The George Washington University (GWU).
Her parents, who were both educators, instilled in her the importance of giving back to the community. Denise recently completed her 12-year term on the Board of the Capital Area Food Bank. She currently serves as the Treasurer of the Darnestown Swim & Racquet Club and is the Chair of the GWU Athletic Advisory Council. Denise has two adult children, Ellie and Jake, and a loving and supportive husband, Chris.
