DSNMC Scholarship Program

DSNMC will award 12 scholarships up to $250 each.

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to individuals with Down syndrome in the following areas: camps, the arts, sports, education, equipment and therapeutic expenses.

DSNMC Scholarship Policies: Members of DSNMC, MD may request a scholarship for various needs and activities not to exceed $250 per family per year. Approval of the application is at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee and/or Board of Directors. Please note: grant funds are for individuals with Down syndrome only.

Criteria For Approval: Requestors must have an updated membership form on file. Funds will be paid to either a vendor or an individual family member. An updated W-9 form, receipt (or invoice) and approved application are required for payment.

Application Deadline: Applications are due by August 31, 2025, and will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Funds will be distributed until we reach our $3,000 fund limit.

Awarding Funds: Email confirmation will be provided upon receipt of application. Notification of approval will be provided on a timely basis by email. Approval for any request is at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee and/or Board of Directors. Only one scholarship will be awarded per fiscal year (January 1-December 31), unless otherwise agreed upon by the DSNMC Board of Directors. Determination is not made on the basis of race, color, creed, sexual orientation, marital status, or economic need.

Expectations of Scholarship Recipients: Scholarship recipients are asked to share how the grant benefited their family and DSNMC may share your response in future marketing materials and on social media.
