DSNMC Scholarship Program

DSNMC will award 12 scholarships up to $250 each.
Purpose: To provide financial assistance to individuals with Down syndrome in the following areas: camps, the arts, sports, education, and therapeutic expenses.
DSNMC Scholarship Policies: Members of DSNMC, MD can request a scholarship for various needs and activities not to exceed $250 per family per year. Approval of application is at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee and/or Board of Directors. Please note: grant funds are for individuals with Down syndrome only.
Criteria For Approval: Requestors must have an updated membership form on file and have volunteered with DSNMC within the past year. This criteria is waived for new families with less than 2 years as a DSNMC member or who have contributed a minimum of $1,000 through fundraising for DSNMC. Current board members, contractors and staff are not eligible. Please note: Funds will be paid to the program provider directly if awarded. We do not provide payment reimbursements.
Application Deadline: Applications are due by May 31, 2024, and will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Funds will be distributed until we reach our $3,000 fund limit.
Awarding Funds: Email confirmation will be provided upon receipt of application. Notification of approval will be provided on a timely basis by email. Approval for any request is at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee and/or Board of Directors. Only one scholarship will be awarded per fiscal year (January 1-December 31), unless otherwise agreed upon by the DSNMC Board of Directors. Determination is not made on the basis of race, color, creed, sexual orientation, marital status, or economic need. To receive payment, please submit a vendor invoice with vendor W-9 form.
Expectations of Scholarship Recipients: You may be asked how the grant benefited you and DSNMC may share your story in future marketing materials and on social media.
